The entire nation will be hooked to their television sets and mobile devices to witness the El Clasico of the Indian Premier League, the clash between two of the most succesful teams of the tournament- Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The two teams squared off in the 12th match of the IPL 2023 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as CSK won the toss and put the hosts to bat first.
As the teams were announced after the toss, the official digital broadcasters of the cash-rich event- JioCinema- were trolled brutally as they made a huge blunder while putting up CSK's playing combination. CSK made four changes to their XI, and brought in South Africa's Sisanda Magala in the Playing XI, but JioCinema made a huge mistake and added Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah's picture above Magala's name.
While one user wrote “Bumrah playing for CSK in El Clasico, Bumrah chose his side!!!”, another wrote “Looks like we (CSK) hijacked Bumrah”.
The match is not just special for the MI and CSK fans, but also for all the IPL fans across the world as the world is witnessing the 1000th match of the tournament. One of the longest running franchise based tournament in the T20 format, the Indian Premier League completed a record 1000 matches.
While five-time champions Mumbai Indians are playing just their second game of the tournament after almost a week-long gap, four-time champions Chennai Super Kings won their second game against the Lucknow Super Giants after losing their campaign opener against the defending champions Gujarat Titans. Mumbai lost their campaign opener against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
CSK leaked runs initially in the powerplay, but bounced back when Tushar Deshpande dismissed the high-flying Rohit Sharma but nevertheless, Mumbai Indians finished their powerplay on a high note, scoring 61 runs at the loss of one wicket.
