‘Wishes to the legend’ - Cricket fraternity brings in Ravichandran Ashwin's birthday with love and joy

Many cricketers took to Twitter as Ravichandran Ashwin celebrated his 37th birthday.

Widely regarded as one of the best all-rounders of the generation, veteran Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin is undoubtedly one of a kind. Over the years, Ashwin has well established himself as a stalwart in the Indian cricket team across formats.

Ashwin has played 272 matches across formats for India so far and has performed at the peak of his powers with both the bat and the ball. In those matches, the 37-year-old has taken 712 wickets and amassed 4076 runs to his name. 

The all-rounder made his international debut in 2010 and has ever since been one of the best for India. Apart from his performances in international cricket, Ashwin has also been impactful in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with many franchises, winning numerous titles. 

In the IPL, Ashwin has played  197 matches, so far, and he has taken 171 wickets and scored 714 runs to his name. Furthermore, apart from the IPL, Ashwin has also won the Champions League Trophy back in 2013 as well. 

Over the years, Ashwin has made and broken many records. The veteran Indian all-rounder has been a World Cup winner, and a Champions Trophy winner, and has etched his name in history in the World Test Championship (WTC) as well. It is worth noting that Ashwin is the highest wicket-taker for India in WTC history and he has showcased his class in Test cricket numerous times. 

In Test cricket, Ashwin has five centuries to his name, which goes to show how impactful the all-rounder has been with both the bat and ball. As Ashwin turned 37 years old on Sunday, September 17, a plethora of fans and teammates both current and former took to social media to wish the veteran all-rounder on the joyous occasion.
