Cricketing fraternity celebrates Ram Mandir's Pran Pratistha Ceremony
Wishes poured in from cricketers for the successful consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir while some players even attended the event.
The entire nation is celebrating the homecoming of Ram Lalla (Child Lord Ram) in Ayodhya as the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir was successfully held on Monday, January 22. Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the rituals to consecrate Lord Rama’s idol in the sanctum sanctorum.
Upon the completion of the ceremony, wishes poured in on the momentous occasion from all over India as the entire country celebrated the grand event. The cricketing fraternity also didn’t stay behind and joined the celebrations in the holy city of Ayodhya as several former players flew into the city to be a part of the historic event.
Legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, who had received a personal invitation to attend the event, marked his presence and termed the occasion a ‘dream come true’ moment. Apart from him, legendary wrist spinner Anil Kumble also visited Ayodhya along with his family. Former fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad also came to witness the religious event. Former India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj also marked her presence as she shared some photographs with badminton star Saina Nehwal.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma couldn't come to Ayodhya
The only member from the current Indian cricket team to be present at the ceremony was all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He took a day’s break from team India’s training camp in Hyderabad to visit Ayodhya with his wife. Star cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were also invited to the event but failed to mark their presence.

Captain Rohit Sharma had to join the training camp while Kohli reportedly missed due to a personal reason due to which he also won’t be able to play the first two Tests of the series.
