Right after Royal Challengers Bangalore were eliminated from IPL 2023 playoffs race, Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen-ul-Haq posted a cryptic story on Instagram, in which a TV presenter can be seen laughing uncontrollably. Even though he didn’t mention much but fans were quick to spot that the Afghanistan international is taking a dig at Virat Kohli and RCB as they later called out Naveen and condemned the act on Twitter.
Notably, in the match, Kohli managed to hit his seventh century in the cash-rich league as RCB posted 197 runs in the first innings. The 34-year-old timed his innings well as he managed to score two back-to-back tons in the ongoing season. However, despite his best efforts, Gujarat Titans won the match by six wickets, which eventually ruled RCB out of the race. Chasing 198 runs in M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Shubman Gill rose up to the occasion and scored a phenomenal century to help GT win a thriller of a match.
Batting at number three, Vijay Shankar did remarkably well too as the 32-year-old hit 53 runs off 35 deliveries. Courtesy of their incredible knocks, the Faf du Plessis-led side got knocked out of the tournament while Mumbai Indians confirmed their place in the top four.
However, after the match, Twitter was not only buzzing because of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill’s century but also because of what Naveen posted. Notably, the pacer had a heated argument with Kohli earlier in the season, and ever since the 24-year-old has taken multiple digs at the former India skipper. Naveen was fined 50% of his match fees while Gautam Gambhir and Kohli were fined 100% of their match fees for breaking the IPL code of conduct and since then, fans all across India often chant Kohli’s name seeing Gambhir and Naveen.
Meanwhile, the fans have already slammed Naveen on Twitter for his ‘distasteful’ comment but the cricketer is yet to respond to that.
