'God called it already!' - Netizens left dumbstruck after Sachin Tendulkar's on-point prediction of RCB vs LSG clash
Lucknow Super Giants beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by one wicket in Match 15 of the tournament.
Lucknow Super Giants managed to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by one wicket in Match 15 of the Indian Premier League season 16 on Monday, April 10 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After being put in to bat first, RCB posted a massive score of 212/2 in their allotted 20 overs. However, they failed to defend the mammoth total as LSG won the thrilling encounter on the last ball of the match.
Following the nail-biting finish between the two teams, a Tweet by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar has been going viral all over social media where he predicted that LSG might chase down the target in the second innings. The fans have been left awestruck by the accuracy of the Master Blaster’s prophecy and are hailing him.
Midway through RCB’s innings, the legendary cricketer praised Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis for their opening stand, however, he also mentioned the fact that even a total of 210 may not be a safe score considering the good batting surface at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Tendulkar took to Twitter and wrote, “The opening partnership by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis has given the perfect launchpad for Glenn Maxwell and company to set a big total. But on this surface and ground, I have a feeling even 210 may not be safe.”
Coming back to the match, RCB posted a massive 212/2 in the first innings courtesy of half-centuries from Virat Kohli (61 off 44), Faf du Plessis (79 off 46) and Glenn Maxwell (59 off 29). Kohli and Du Plessis gave the perfect start to RCB as they added 96 off 69 balls for the first wicket.
Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis brought LSG back in the game
After Kohli’s dismissal, Maxwell took on the attack on LSG and added 115 runs off just 50 balls for the second wicket with captain Du Plessis. In reply, LSG got off to a miserable start as they lost three wickets in the first four overs and were reeling at 23/3 after four overs.
However, breathtaking knocks from Marcus Stoinis (65 off 30) and Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) brought their team back into the game and left them with 28 required off 24 balls with five wickets in hand. There was more drama to follow as LSG’s tail made tough work of an easy equation, however, they eventually reached home on the final ball of the match and registered a thrilling victory.
