The day began with England at a score of 316 runs with the loss of six wickets as the side aimed to maximize their lead.

Ollie Pope continued his masterclass and ended up scoring 196 runs in 278 deliveries. Furthermore, Rehan Ahmed scored 28 runs, with Tom Hartley adding 34 runs on the board as England posted a total of 420 runs in the second innings, giving a target of 231 runs for the Indian team to chase.
