India's batting maestro Virat Kohli seems to have got his mojo back as he struck his 46th ODI ton in the ongoing third ODI against Sri Lanka at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, January 15.
Virat looked at his talismanic best yet again as he eased into his 74th international ton overall. Virat looked domineering as ever throughout the entirety of his innings, as he struck ten fours and one six on his way to the three-figure mark.
The former India skipper came to bat in the 16th over of the innings and wasted no time in getting his eye in. He relied on manoeuvring the strike early on and was quick to latch onto any freebie that was offered to him by the Sri Lankan bowlers.
The fact that the opening duo of skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got the hosts to a really stupendous start and aggregated 95 runs for the opening wicket really helped Virat. Virat capitalised on the foundation and took the charge in his own stands as soon as he came into the middle.
Virat put together 131 runs along with Shubman Gill for the second wicket and the stand only got broken after the latter was dismissed in the 34th over. Gill was superb with the bat too as he struck a century himself and got out at an individual score of 116 off 97 balls.
Virat achieved the feat on the last delivery of the 43rd over off Chamika Karunaratne's bowling. He worked a fullish delivery towards long on and bagged a single to reach his triple figure mark.
Here's how Twitter reacted to Virat's sensational knock:

The short form machine is well and truly fixed. ODI century no. 46 for Virat Kohli. Momentum has been built and the challenge now will be for him to replicate this form and consistency in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy.
