IPL 2023: Top 10 Memes from RR vs RCB, Match No. 60
RCB won the match by 112 runs.
In the 60th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore absolutely decimated Rajasthan Royals, beating them by 112 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Notably, batting first, the visiting team lost the wicket of Virat Kohli pretty early, but skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell held their nerve to bring RCB out of a tricky situation.
Faf, who is in tremendous form in the ongoing season, smashed yet another half-century, scoring 55 runs off 44 deliveries, while Australia international Glenn Maxwell hit 54 runs off 33 deliveries. Courtesy of their much-needed 69-run partnership, RCB got the momentum to finish well with the bat as Anuj Rawat, in the end, smacked 29* runs off just 11 deliveries to help the team post 171 runs in the board.
With the ball, the Sanju Samson-led side looked clueless as four of their five bowlers leaked over eight runs per over on a pitch that was tailor-made for the bowlers. Only Adam Zampa looked impressive, picking up two wickets and conceding 25 runs in his four overs, while KM Asif picked up two as well, but the 29-year-old leaked 42 in his four.
When it came to the chase, wickets fell like a house of cards. After a solid display with the bat against KKR in their last match, the momentum was with the home team, but they absolutely failed to deliver as nine of their batters failed to score in double digits. Batting at number six, West Indies international Shimron Hetmyer was the lone fighter, scoring 35 runs off just 19 deliveries while Joe Root (10) was the only other cricketer to score in double digits.
Notably, Wayne Parnell was sensational with the ball, picking up three wickets and conceding just ten runs in three overs, while Micheal Bracewell and Karn Sharma picked up two wickets each. Now, following this massive victory, RCB moved to number five in the IPL points table while RR slipped to number six.
