Gujarat Titans beat Punjab Kings by three wickets in Match 17 of IPL 2024.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered their second win of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) with a three-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) on Thursday, April 04 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. After being put in to bat first, Gujarat posted a massive score of 199/4 in their allotted 20 overs with captain Shubman Gill top-scoring with a magnificent knock of 89.
In reply, Punjab chased down the target in 19.5 overs Shashank Singh taking them over the line with his breathtaking half-century. He was well supported by Prabhsimran Singh (35 off 24) and Ashutosh Sharma (31 off 17). Following their win, PBKS climbed to the fifth spot on the points table with two wins from four matches while Gujarat slipped to sixth spot with two wins from four games as well.

1. Shubman Gill registers first half-century of the season
After failing to convert a couple of starts in the first three games of the season, the Gujarat Titans captain finally scored his first half-century as he anchored through the innings for his side. The opening batter went on to register the highest score of the season so far scoring an unbeaten 89* (48) with the help of six fours and four sixes.
2. Rahul Tewatia’s quick cameo propels GT’s score past 190
The southpaw walked into bat in the 18th over of the innings and did his usual work of finishing the innings on a high with his quick cameo. Tewatia announced his arrival by smashing Harshal Patel for a six on the second delivery of his innings. He further smacked three more boundaries in the innings and scored an unbeaten 23* (8) with the help of three fours and a six.

3. Shashank Singh’s match-winning 61 guides Punjab home
The 32-year-old walked in to bat with his team reeling at 70/4 after 8.4 overs and played a gem of a knock to keep in the game. Shashank completed his maiden IPL fifty off just 25 balls and stayed till the end to guide his team over the line on the penultimate ball of the match. The right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 61* (29) with the help of six fours and four sixes.
