IPL 2024: KKR vs DC Match 47 Highlights: Unmissable video recap, turning points, match analysis, stats and more

Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals exchanged blows in match 47 of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 29. DC won the toss and opted to bat first. KKR restricted DC to a score of 153 for nine, led by spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy's attacking spells. In the chase, Phil Salt continued his onslaught, smashing 68 off just 33 balls. Thereafter, skipper Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer led the team to a seven-wicket victory for KKR.

1. Vaibhav Arora cleans up Shai Hope with an unplayable delivery 

Vaibhav Arora rubbed salt on Delhi Capitals' wounds while cleaning up Shai Hope. On the second ball of the fourth over, Vaibhav was hit for a maximum by Hope. Vaibhav replied in classical pacer’s style and bowled an absolute cracker. He bowled a length ball angled in around middle and off and the batter had nothing much to do.

2. Varun Chakravarthy sends Delhi’s dark horses back to the pavilion

DC suffered an early setback as their top order collapsed, thanks to KKR’s mercurial bowling. The standout performer was Varun Chakravarthy. He deceived Rishabh Pant by playing a slog sweep and holed out to Shreyas Iyer. He later held Tristan Stubbs by the lack of pace and the keeper did the rest with safe gloves.

3. Axar Patel ends marauding Phil Salt’s stay

Axar Patel provided DC with a crucial breakthrough as he dislodged Phil Salt’s timber. Salt was on song and looked daunting against the dismal bowling of DC. Axar was introduced after the powerplay and he bowled the Englishman with a flat-arm ball.
