Rajasthan Royals continued their winning run in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) with a thrilling two-wicket win in Match 31 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday, April 16 at Eden Gardens Kolkata. After being put in to bat first, KKR posted a mammoth score of 223/6 in their allotted 20 overs courtesy of a century from Sunil Narine. In reply, Rajasthan chased down the target on the last ball as Jos Buttler scored a heroic ton.
Following their win, the Sanju Samson-led side maintains pole position on the points table with six wins from seven matches having 12 points to their name. On the other hand, KKR maintained second spot with four wins from six matches having eight points to their name.

1. Avesh Khan takes one-handed stunner to dismiss Philip Salt
The right-arm seamer drew first blood for his side as he got the big scalp of Salt who was the player of the match for KKR in the last game. On the third ball of the fourth over, Salt hit one straight back to Avesh who dived to his left to grab a stunner with one hand and pointed at his captain in celebration.
2. Sunil Narine slams maiden IPL hundred
The southpaw continued his marvellous form batting at the top of the order as he once again ripped apart the opposition’s bowling with his breathtaking strokeplay. Narine scored his first 12 runs in 12 balls and later got into the groove to complete his fifty off 29 balls. The southpaw continued his onslaught and registered his maiden IPL hundred off just 49 deliveries. He was finally dismissed for 109 off 56 deliveries with the help of 13 fours and six sixes.

3. Jos Buttler takes RR over the line with a gutsy century
Making a comeback in the side after missing the previous game due to fitness issues, Jos Buttler fought till the end for his side and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. The opening batter held one end and played second fiddle with other batters to stay till the end. However, when he lost the last recognized batter in Rovman Powell, RR needed 46 off 19 balls.
Despite the challenging situation, the 33-year-old was cool as a cucumber as he took his team over the line with a spectacular hundred scoring 107* off 60 balls with the help of nine fours and six sixes.
