Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted the Gujarat Giants (GT) for the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first against GT. Royal Challengers Bengaluru gave an inspiring performance where they dismissed GT 147 in 19.3 overs.
With two wickets apiece, Mohammed Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yash Dayal topped the RCB bowling attack. Sai Sudharsan was crucially removed by Cameron Green, while Karn Sharma was the one to remove the threatening David Miller. After winning Saturday's match against Gujarat Giants, RCB climbed up to the seventh position of the IPL 2024 points table and pushed back Gujarat Giants to the 9th position.

1. RCB bowlers'extraordinary performance
In an unexpected manner, Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowled out Gujarat Giants for just 147 runs in 19.3 overs. The RCB bowling lineup against GT included Mohammed Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyashak and Yash Dayal who helped in dismissing all from GT. Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyashak took 2 wickets each, 1 wicket each by Cameron Green and Karn Sharma and Virat Kohli's magnificent effort to run out Shahrukh Khan and the same effort was seen from the wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik who dismissed Mohit Sharma.
2. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis' effort to give RCB their highest powerplay score
In the second innings, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored 92 off just 6 overs and gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru their first-highest powerplay score in IPL history. Faf du Plessis' game against GT was extraordinary as he scored 64 runs in just 23 balls but was unfortunately caught at the fine leg. Virat Kohli has been performing well this season. Against GT, he missed his half-century by 8 runs and was caught behind by Wriddhiman Saha at just 42 runs. He also started by smashing two sixes in the opening over of Mohit Sharma. Kohli is back to being the Orange Cap holder of IPL 2024. Virat Kohli also became the first Indian to complete 12,500 runs in T20 after his innings against GT on Saturday.
3. Joshua Little's comeback
The Irish cricketer Joshua Little made a magical comeback where in his first over he gave up 20 runs and in the next 3 overs took 4 wickets by giving off just 4 runs combined gave up 45 runs in his 4 overs. He dismissed the fiery RCB skipper du Plessis when he was smashing boundaries. Little also sent Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green back to the pavilion. At one moment he made RCB fans feel that their team is going to lose against the Gujarat Titans.
