Pakistan skipper Babar Azam turned 28 on Saturday, October 15, and he celebrated his birthday with all skippers at the T20 World Cup 2022 Captains’ Day press meet in Melbourne, Australia. The International Cricket Council (ICC) organized the press meet as they called up all the 16 team’s captains to speak with the media.

Knowing that it was Babar’s birthday, host and Australia skipper Aaron Finch surprised his counterpart with a sweet gesture by bringing a cake. The Pakistan skipper was seated alongside Scotland's Richie Berrington and was little surprised when Finch approached him with a cake.

That was not the end of the grand celebration as Babar went on to cut a second two-tier, green-coloured cake arranged by the Pakistan cricket team's digital team outside the press room, along with the other skippers. In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the captain was seemingly delighted with the gesture.

Azam has risen up the ranks in the Pakistan setup and has transformed himself into a run-machine, amassing a truckload of runs during his stint in international Cricket. The talismanic batter has earned his spot among the top batters in the world along with the likes of Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jos Buttler to name a few.

The Pakistan captain is all set to guide his team once again in the forthcoming T20 World Cup held in Australia. The side is currently riding high after clinching the Tri-series against New Zealand and Bangladesh. Momentum and consistency at this stage is what the side requires ahead of the marquee tournament.

Moreover, the birthday boy will hope to maintain his form and display his sublime performances on Australian pitches. Babar Azam and Co. will lock horns with Rohit Sharma-led India on October 23 which marks the first fixture of their World Cup campaign.

Here's how the cricketing fraternity wished Babar Azam
