While De Kock stole the show with his 174, Heinrich Klaasen amassed 90 runs.
The 23rd match of the ODI World Cup 2023 is being played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, where South Africa are facing off against Bangladesh. South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first. However, they faced early setbacks as Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen were quickly dismissed. Reeza's wicket was taken by Shoriful, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz removed Dussen.
Bangladesh had initially made a promising start with the ball, reducing South Africa to 36/2 within the first 8 overs. The partnership of 131 runs between Quinton De Kock and Aiden Markram for the third wicket was a huge positive for South Africa.
After Markram was dismissed, Heinrich Klaasen, who was in excellent form, joined De Kock at the crease. Together, they launched a relentless attack on the Bangladeshi bowlers, dominating the game and scoring boundaries all over the ground.
South Africa continued their formidable scoring throughout the match. In the final 10 overs, they scored an impressive 144 runs, finishing their innings with a massive total of 382. Quinton de Kock played an outstanding innings, scoring 174 runs, while Heinrich Klaasen contributed a scintillating 90. Aiden Markram also scored a half-century, but it was overshadowed by the onslaught that followed his dismissal.

Despite their efforts, Bangladesh struggled to contain the South African batters. Hasan Mahmud managed to claim two wickets, but it was not enough to halt South Africa's dominant performance. Going forward, it would be interesting to see how Bangladeshi batters are going to approach this huge chase.
