The young talent of India is well and truly taking the IPL 2023 by storm with their marvellous performances. Continuing with the trend, Punjab Kings batter Prabhsimran Singh scored a scintillating hundred against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, May 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The 22-year-old, who was the lone warrior in the innings scored a sensational 103 off 65 balls and took Punjab to a respectable total.
Prabhsimran started his innings quietly scoring just 1 off 3 balls in the first two overs. He scored a couple of boundaries against Khaleel Ahmed in the third over to get his innings going. While wickets kept falling from one end, the opening batter continued to take on DC’s bowling and helped them finish the powerplay on 46/3 after six overs.
Prabhsimran got involved in a 72-run stand for the fourth wicket with Sam Curran (20 off 24) off 54 balls to stabilize the innings after the three early blows. He was on 27 off 31 after 10 overs and took on Mitchell Marsh in the 11th over smacking him for consecutive sixes and a four to shift the momentum in Punjab’s favour.
The swashbuckling batter reached his second half-century in IPL off 42 balls as Punjab reached the 100-run mark in the 14th over. With the death overs approaching, Prabhsimran quickly shifted gears and started finding boundaries on most occasions. The opening batter reached the coveted three-figure mark with a boundary against Khaleel Ahmed and completed his hundred off 61 balls.

After reaching the landmark, he took off his helmet and joined his hands to greet the dressing room. His innings ended in the very next over as he played a full toss from Mukesh Kumar back onto his stumps trying to reverse scoop it over third man.
Prabhsimran departed for a magnificent 103 off 65 balls with the help of ten fours and six sixes in his innings. Apart from him, only one batter from Punjab reached the 20-run mark as they finished their innings on 167/7 at the end of their 20 overs. Ishant Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for DC as he registered figures of 2/27 in 3 overs.
