Deepti Sharma's method of running out Charlotte Dean in the third WODI between India and England at Lord's on Saturday, September 24 has evoked mixed reactions in the cricketing circuit. On one hand, the move by Deepti was deemed lfair by fans and many cricket experts, there were also some renowned cricketers who were not convinced with the run out technique. The latter category included the likes of Michael Vaughan, Stuart Broad, Sam Billings among others.
Another former cricketer, who openly criticised the move was Pakistan's veteran pacer Mohammad Asif. However, Asif ended up crossing all limits when he termed Deepti's act as 'unfair' and a 'terrible act' as well as used the hashtag - #Cheater. This did not go down well with the fans and they trolled the ex-bowler by reminding him of his own involvement in a match-fixing saga 12 years ago.
Fans troll Mohammad Asif for mocking Deepti Sharma
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Asif posted a picture of Deepti Sharma running out Dean at the non-strikers' end and captioned it as "We can see it clearly there is no intention of bowling the ball, she is looking towards non striker batter to cheat him. This is very unfair & terrible act worst spirit."

Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir were involved in the infamous spot-fixing scandal during the Lord's Test match between England and Pakistan in August 2010. Reportedly, both pacers Asif and Amir deliberately bowled no-balls at specific points during the contest which was pre-planned.
Reports further stated that all the three accused cricketers had taken bribes from a bookie named Mazhar Majeed to deliberately underperform in the match. Nonetheless, their plans were completely foiled after the trio was caught red-handed while the contest was still in progress.
All three culprits were banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Meanwhile, the London court also found the three Pakistani cricketers guilty of criminal charges relating to spot-fixing and all four including Majeed were given prison sentences.
While Mohammad Amir made a second comeback to international cricket in February 2016, Asif and Salman Butt never played for Pakistan again.
