Scotland registered one of the greatest wins in their cricketing history, as they defeated the former T20 World Cup champions West Indies by 42 runs at Hobart on October 17 (Monday).
Speaking about the match, Scottish batter George Munsey was excellent with the bat as he stroked an unbeaten 66 off 53 balls with the batting team reaching the 160-run mark in its allotted 20 overs. Apart from Munsey, cameos from Calum MacLeod (23 off 14) and Chris Greaves (16* off 11) also helped Scotland's cause.
West Indies were 53/1 at one stage
In reply, the Men in Maroon scored 53 runs for the loss of one wicket with Evin Lewis getting out on the penultimate ball of the powerplay. After the fall of Lewis, the West Indies batting order fell like a pack of cards as they lost seven wickets for just 26 runs in 44 deliveries.
For Scotland, Mark Watt played a very crucial role with the ball. The left-arm spinner finished with three wickets and gave away only 12 runs from his four overs quota to help his side gain a massive victory and boost their chance to qualify for the next stage.
Team Windies are without the likes of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Kieron Pollard in Australia, they also recently lost a T20I series against the home team and will now have to win their last two group games in the T20 World Cup to give themselves the best chance of avoiding an embarrassing exit.
The two-time T20 champions will now face Zimbabwe in their next encounter of the T20 World Cup and they will want to win the second match at any cost to keep their hopes alive in the competition. Scotland, on the other hand, will face Ireland in their second encounter.

Mark Watt has been doing this all year taking wickets with his 24-yarder. Surprise ball trying to catch the striker out of rhythm used to seeing the ball delivered a second later than he does. Just did it again to Brandon King of West Indies in the T20 WC. pic.twitter.com/fFUtVvlDJu
