Ahead of the third ODI between both teams, Twitter erupted over a completely different reason. When talking about the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, it is quite impossible to not miss out on the former Indian legendary wicketkeeper and batter, MS Dhoni. The 41-year-old, recently, captured all the headlines after he was seen sitting in the Indian team’s dugout before the game.
Chennai Super Kings, whom Dhoni represents in the Indian Premier League (IPL), shared a picture of the same on Twitter, and fans buzzed with excitement seeing the former skipper back in Chennai. CSK captioned the tweet, saying, "Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon."
India need 270 runs to clinch the ODI series
In the third ODI, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first in Chennai. The visitors once again got off to a decent start to the first innings as Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh came through for the Men in Yellow, scoring 33 and 47 runs, respectively.
After skipper Steve Smith was dismissed for a duck, the middle order of Australia notched up some much-needed runs on the board. Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya put in excellent performances with the ball, as both took three wickets each to hinder the plans of the Aussies.
The hosts also got off to a good start in the chase as skipper Rohit Sharma and opener Shubman Gill scored 30 and 37 runs, respectively. Virat Kohli’s resilience could prove to be the driving factor for India if they go on to win the game against Australia. The ace batter scored a half-century and once again came through for the Men in Blue.
