Khushdil Shah was dismissed cheaply yet again in the T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up fixture against England and it certainly did not impress the netizens. Coming into bat at number five, Khushdil Shah had all the time to settle at the crease with more than nine overs to go and could have accelerated at the back end of the innings. Instead, the left-hander perished for a golden duck in the bowling off David Willey and lost another good opportunity to make a statement.

This also takes to the woes around the struggling middle-order for Pakistan and Khushdil Shah has had a big role to play in it. The 27-year-old has played 24 T20Is with an average of just above 20 and a strike rate of 110 which does not do any justice to his selection in the playing XI.

With the youngster Haider Ali playing a lot more impactful innings, Khushdil is expected to be benched throughout the T20 World Cup 2022 campaign for Pakistan. In the six games he played in Asia Cup 2022 recently, the left-hander managed 58 runs at an average of 14.50 and a strike rate of 120.83 and his spot in the side has been under the scanner.

With all the talk around the struggling middle-order, the netizens reacted strongly to Khushdil getting dismissed for a golden duck in the warm-up fixture. Pakistan have another warm-up fixture scheduled against Afghanistan and it will be interesting to see if Khushdil can make the XI as the likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were rested for the first warm-up fixture against England.

Here’s how the Twitter reacted to Khushdil Shah’s cheap dismissal
