Babar Azam starred with the bat for Pakistan with an unbeaten 110-run knock.
Pakistan have levelled the series with a record break run chase in the second T20I against England at the National Stadium in Karachi. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were the stars of the run chase as the visitors could not find any answers to the assault from the sensational duo.
Earlier in the game, England opted to bat first after winning the toss and the openers went hard at the bowlers which resulted in a lot of edges going to the boundaries. Shahnawaz Dahani came to the rescue for Pakistan with two wickets on back-to-back deliveries and it was down to Phil Salt (30) and Ben Duckett (43) to do the repair work. The duo added 53 for the third wicket in quick time and set the impetus for a big total to be posted.
Pakistan again came back with two more wickets in quick succession; however, the stage was set for Harry Brook and Moeen Ali to go after the bowling. Brook played a handy knock of 31 off 19 balls while skipper Moeen changed the course of the game with an unbeaten 23-ball 55 that included four fours and four sixes. In the end, England posted a massive total of 199 for 5 in their 20 overs while Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan with 2 for 30 in his four overs.
Babar Azam sets the stage on fire with a splendid century
In reply, Pakistan got off to a fantastic start in the powerplay and both the openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan tried to keep up with the required run rate. The pair went past the 100-run mark comfortably and used the tough conditions for the bowlers to their advantage. Liam Dawson was the only bowler who showed a bit of control with an economical spell however, he had to finish his spell earlier while the other England bowlers never got into their groove.
Rizwan was the aggressor among the two at the start, however, Babar caught up later and the latter got to his second century in the T20I format. The skipper remained unbeaten on 110 off 66 balls with 11 fours and five sixes while Rizwan played his part with an unbeaten 88-run knock as Pakistan registered a stunning ten-wicket victory.
