Bangladesh retained the Under-19 Men's Asia Cup title by beating India by a comprehensive 59-run margin at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, December 8. Iqbal Hossain Emon continued his rich run of form in the tournament as his excellent performance with the ball knocked the winds out of India's sail.

Indian captain Mohamed Amaan won the toss and opted to field first in what was a rematch of the 2023 semi-final. Yudhajit Guha, the most economical bowlers in the tournament, challenged the Bangladeshi batters with his accuracy and gave his team the initial breakthrough, dismissing Kalam Siddiki Aleen in the seventh over. Fellow opener Zawad Abrar and captain Azizul Hakim Tamim got themselves off to starts but could not convert them into substantial scores.

Mohammad Shihab James and Md Rizan Hossan stitched a crucial 62-run partnership for the fourth wicket off 81 balls to consolidate the Bangladeshi innings. Ayush Mhatre once again played the partnership breaker's role as he dismissed James for 40. Meanwhile, Hossan top-scored for the batting side with a 65-ball 47.

Wicketkeeper-batter Farid Hasan Faysal came out to bat at No. 7 and played an important 39 off 49 under pressure. His fighting knock helped Bangladesh get to a respectable total of 198 on a tricky surface. Guha, Chetan Sharma, and Hardik Raj performed well with the ball for India as they bagged two wickets apiece.

In reply, India lost their in-form opening duo of Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi inside the first five overs. Andre Siddarth and KP Karthikeya tried to weather the storm but they perished after getting into the 20s. Bangladesh bowlers were on the mark from the outset and some positive captaincy from Tamim meant that wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

Amaan and Hardik forged a 23-run stand as the latter tried to play counter-attacking cricket to chip away at the target. However, both of them fell in quick succession as India were reduced to 124/9. Chetan and Guha delayed the inevitable for a couple of overs before captain Tamim dismissed the former to give Bangladesh their second consecutive triumph in the Under-19 Men's Asia Cup.
