Gujarat Giants Women sealed victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women by six wickets and 21 deliveries to spare in Match 12 of the ongoing edition of the Women's Premier League at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, February 27.

Electing to field first, Gujarat got off to quite a good start. They bagged Bengaluru's top-order within the powerplay, including the prized scalp of Ellyse Perry. Raghvi Bisht and Kanika Ahuja tried to steady the ship but could not prevent substantial damage.

Bengaluru ended up scoring a paltry 125 for the loss of seven wickets. Tanuja Kanwar was the pick of the bowlers from the Gujarat outfit. She scalped a couple of wickets, conceding only 16 runs in her four-over quota. The rest of the bowling unit chipped in vitally, too. Deandra Dottin was the other player to end up with two wickets to her name.

Coming to the run-chase, Gujarat started off quite cautiously. They lost both their openers - Dayalan Hemalatha in the power play and Beth Mooney outside. A 19-run over by Prema Rawat skewed the game towards the tourists. Ashleigh Gardner seemed to be in sensational nick. Although Harleen Deol departed in Georgia Wareham's first over, the skipper did not look unfazed.

Phoebe Litchfield partnered along with Gardner for the rest of the run-chase. The Australian all-rounder departed just after getting to her third WPL 2025 half-ton, but the damage had already been inflicted. Gujarat chased down the target comfortably in 16.3 overs, finally getting on track after a couple of back-to-back losses.
