This was the heaviest defeat of the campaign for the Scottish as they were no match to a clinical English unit.

England Women motored their way to a dashing 10-wicket victory against Scotland Women which they achieved with as many overs in the kitty as they continued their domination in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. A 110-run target was plowed down with minimal effort, courtesy of half-centuries by the opening batters.

Having been put in on the field by the Scottish, the English did quite well in not letting the openers run away with the game. The wicket came soon after Saskia Horley played a tired shot in a bid to break the shackles, only to find Sophie Ecclestone at mid-off. The left-arm spinner, who had bowled two in the powerplay, finally got her first breakthrough when she completely deceived Sarah Bryce in the air to effect a stumping.

The Scottish registered their first six of the innings as well as their campaign through Ailsa Lister's willow as she picked the bones out of a floaty delivery served up by Sarah Glenn. However, it was safe to say that the Scottish could never get going from that point onwards. A wicket in each over from the 15th to the 18th over saw them reach a below-par 109 in their quota. Skipper, Kathryn Bryce, top-scored with 33, as it was up to her girls as well as her to fight it out during the run-chase.

Maia Bouchier started the innings off to a cracking start by smearing the first three deliveries to the fence. After her first over which saw Olivia Bell concede just three, she was taken apart by Bouchier and her partner, Danielle Wyatt, for 18 runs in her second. There was absolutely no respite for the Scottish who were mercilessly swept away for 66 runs in the first six. A brisk and belligerent Bouchier brought up her half-century in 30 deliveries.

Wyatt notched her fifty courtesy of a comedy of errors from first the batters, and then the fielder at cover, who ended up throwing the ball way wide of the stumps in what was definitely a clear chance for Scotland to salvage whatever little they could from the game. The very next delivery was dispatched over square-leg in what was a savage batting display by the English. Scotland Women's first-ever Women's T20 World Cup ended on a disappointing note. They would have hoped to post a larger total but some loose bowling from their end did not help their cause.
