Twitter Reactions: India C emerge victorious, overcoming moments of madness on Day 3
Abishek Porel played a calm and composed innings on Day 3 to help India C emerge victorious against India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur.
India C triumphed over India D in the Duleep Trophy 2024 fixture at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on Saturday, September 7. The match ended in three days as Abishek Porel and Manav Suthar's unbeaten partnership of 41 runs helped Ruturaj Gaikwad's side secure victory with four wickets to spare.
Day 3 started with India D being on 206/8, leading by 202 runs in their second essay. Axar Patel and Harshit Rana hit a few boundaries before Shreyas Iyer's side was dismissed for 236. Manav Suthar finished with excellent figures of 7/49 as India C needed 233 to chase down in the fourth innings.

Ruturaj hit boundaries off the first two balls of the innings to make his intentions clear. He played aggressively to score a 48-ball 46 after his fellow opener, Sai Sudharsan, was dismissed for a 34-ball 22. Aryan Juyal and Rajat Patidar formed an 88-run partnership and looked in total control during the run-chase. However, off-spinner Saransh Jain broke the stand by dismissing Patidar for a 77-ball 44. The right-handed batter tried to go for a glory hit as he stepped out and swung for the fences. However, he could only connect with thin air as Srikar Bharat completed an easy stumping.
This was the start of a phase of hara-kiri by the India C batters as Juyal was dismissed in the next over, trying to take on Arshdeep Singh. He miscued an uppish drive to Harshit Rana at deep cover. Baba Indrajith and Hrithik Shokeen also departed in their quest to hit sixes.

India C were in a spot of bother as they went from 165/2 to 191/6, still needing another 42 runs to get over the line. Suthar joined Porel in the middle and the two left-handers showed a lot of patience during their partnership. The former got off the mark on the 30th ball he faced. Iyer tried his best to change his bowlers around and opted to set some aggressive fields in his search for wickets but the two batters were determined to take their team home. In the end, India C managed to win by six wickets to get the crucial six points from this clash.
