In the third T20I clash between England Women and India Women at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, the contest, although a decided series in England's favour, saw India striving to salvage their reputation. England, having clinched the series with two prior wins, won the toss and elected to bat on a challenging pitch. Posting a modest 126 runs, England faced an early setback at 26 for three, courtesy of Renuka's swift strikes for India.

Heather Knight's resilient knock of 52 and a partnership with Amy Jones stabilized the innings momentarily. However, a later collapse orchestrated by Saika Ishaque and Shreyanka Patil saw England reeling at 76 for 8. Knight's valiant effort, marked by three fours and three sixes in her 42-ball innings, pushed England to a competitive total. Patil and Ishaque shared six wickets between them, while Renuka Singh and Amanjot Kaur nabbed two wickets each.

In pursuit of 127 runs, India faced an early blow with the departure of Shafali Verma. Nonetheless, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues forged a crucial 57-run partnership, stabilizing India's chase. Mandhana fell just two runs shy of a half-century, and England's Freya Kemp and Sophie Ecclestone applied brakes to India's momentum. However, Amanjot's quick cameo, marked by two timely boundaries, steered India to a consolation victory, ending the series with a win.

While England claimed the series, India's win provided a confidence boost, emphasized by Harmanpreet Kaur's satisfaction with their patchy yet collective performance. Kaur had previously highlighted India's strong start with the ball, the same was seen asserted if not for Heather Knight's gritty fifty that prevented England from folding below the 100-run mark. The victory, though a minor one, holds significance for India, injecting much-needed self-belief as they gear up for the upcoming Test match.
