The Harmanpreet Kaur-led India outrightly dominated Bangladesh Women to win by 108 runs, helping them get level in the three-match ODI series, 1-1. Notably, the two sides squared off at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, July 19.

Speaking about the match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. India were handed a blow early on in the contest in the form of Priya Punia’s dismissal, as she was sent packing for a meagre seven off 13 balls. Yastika Bhatia too followed suit she headed back to the dugout for 15 off 23 as India were reduced to 40/2.

However, in the middle order, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues helped the 'Women in Blue' get back into the contest, raising a magnificent 73-run stand. However, skipper Harmanpreet had to retire hurt in the midst of the contest as took a blow to her left hand.

Meanwhile, Jemimah continued to steer the side towards a competitive total as she slammed four boundaries in her innings and remained solid on the crease. Scoring a delicate 78-ball 86, Jemimah helped team India attain a 200-plus total.

Harleen Deol and Jemimah added another 55 runs between them to keep the scoreboard ticking. In the process, Team India finished with a total of 228 runs in their 50 overs. While Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter returned with two wickets apiece, Marufa Akter and Rabeya Khan got one each in the innings.

During the run-chase, the opening pair of Murshida Khatun and Sharmin Akhter were sent packing in quick time for paltry scores of 12 and two runs, respectively. Coming in at no. 3, Fargana Hoque tried to bail her side out of the precarious situation with her delicate 81-ball 47, however, Devika Vaidya and Jemimah operated in tandem to slice through the rival batting line-up.

While Jemimah got a four-wicket haul for a mere three runs in her 3.1 overs, Devika gave 30 runs in eight overs, claiming three wickets. With this, Bangladesh were restricted to a meagre 120 runs, thereby handing a humongous 108-run win to Team India as they got level terms in the series.
