The home side Mumbai Indians Women (MUM-W) clinched victory against Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) in the final of the Women's Premier League 2025 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. This marked Mumbai's second title triumph in the competition in three seasons.

Delhi couldn't have asked for a better start. Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia were dismissed for negligible scores by Marizanne Kapp. The seasoned South African ended up finishing her four-over quota in a single stretch. By the time Kapp was done with her spell, Mumbai had ended up with only 22 on the board after seven overs. Their 20-run score after the first six overs was the fourth-lowest in powerplays in the history of the WPL.

Harmanpreet Kaur had scored only one boundary in her first 15 deliveries. However, she led Mumbai's revival along with Nat Sciver-Brunt superbly well. The latter could never really find the fence at ease though, and was dismissed in the over subsequent to Harmanpreet getting to her third half-century of the edition. The first inning's 16th over produced two wickets. Mumbai ended up with 149 on the board.

Coming to the run-chase, Delhi were provided two huge setbacks in the form of their skipper and Shafali Verma who departed for low scores, courtesy of  Nat Sciver-Brunt and Shabnim Ismail, respectively. Although they had scored significantly more runs than Mumbai in the powerplay, losing wickets on a regular basis proved to be quite detrimental in their attempt to move forward.

After a brilliant performance with the ball, Kapp came good with the bat too. It seemed as if Delhi would get over the line with the manner in which she was looking set at the crease. However, after the South African all-rounder departed for 40 (26), it all went down for her side. Niki Prasad just couldn't get going, ending up unbeaten on 25 off 23 deliveries. Mumbai ended up clinching victory by eight runs.
