Twitter Reactions: Pakistan clinch series with dominant show in third Test

Pakistan defeated England by nine wickets in the third Test.

The three-game Test series between Pakistan and England finally came to a close; after a series of subpar performances, Pakistan finally managed to register a series win. It is worth noting that England managed to win the first Test of the series by an innings and 47 runs. 

Following that, the second Test of the series was won by Pakistan, when they defeated England by 152 runs. The third Test of the series began at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 24. The clash began with England batting first and posting a total of 267 runs on the board in the first innings. 

In response, Pakistan scored 344 runs, thanks to an exceptional century by Saud Shakeel and a resilient unbeaten knock of 48 runs by Sajid Khan in the lower order. Day 3 of the third Test began with England batting in the second innings on a score of 24 runs, having lost three wickets in the process. 

Day 3 continued with England losing wickets in quick succession. Joe Root and Harry Brook scored 33 and 26 runs, respectively. Gus Atkinson added 10 runs on the board as England were bundled out for a score of 112 runs in the second innings, giving Pakistan a target of 36 runs in the second innings. 

As for the hosts, Noman Ali was the highest wicket-taker, with six wickets to his name. Sajid Khan took four wickets as well. Coming out to chase a target of 36 runs, Pakistan lost the wicket of Saim Ayub early. However, Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood stayed unbeaten on scores of five and 23 as Pakistan chased down the target in 3.1 overs, winning the game by nine wickets and clinching the series in the process.
