Australia and Pakistan continued their ongoing three-game ODI series by facing off in the second game at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, November 8. Having won the first ODI of the series, Australia aimed to clinch the series with another good showing in the second ODI.
However, Pakistan had different plans. The second ODI began with Australia coming in to bat first after losing the toss. The side opened their innings, with Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk scoring 19 and 13 runs, respectively. Steven Smith added 35 runs on the board, with Josh Inglis adding 18 runs.
Things went from bad to worse for the Aussies as Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for just six runs. Furthermore, Aaron Hardie and Glenn Maxwell were dismissed for 14 and 16 runs, respectively, as Australia posted a total of 163 runs in the first innings of the game.
As for Pakistan, Haris Rauf was the star performer for the Men in Green in the first innings. With five wickets to his name, Rauf was exceptional for his side. Furthermore, Shaheen Afridi took three wickets, with Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain striking once each as well.

Ayub, Shafique help Pakistan level series in Adelaide
Aiming to chase down the target of 164 runs, Pakistan’s top-order put in an excellent performance with the bat. Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique opened the innings for the Men in Green and put in an exceptional performance.
Ayub attacked the bowlers right away, and managed to score 82 runs in 71 deliveries. Furthermore, Shafique stayed unbeaten throughout his innings, scoring 64* runs in 69 deliveries. Furthermore, Babar Azam stayed unbeaten on a score of 15 runs as Pakistan levelled the score in Adelaide as the visitors won the game by nine wickets.
