Twitter Reactions: Punjab Kings use RTM card to re-acquire Arshdeep Singh for INR 18 crore

The IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 mega auction kicked off in Jeddah on November 24. As the 10 franchises geared up to rope in the best players in their squad, the proceedings began with star India pacer Arshdeep Singh coming under the hammer. 

As the bid began at INR 2 crore, several teams like Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad showed interest in Arshdeep. After the star player was set to be sold to SRH for INR 15.75 lakh, Punjab Kings used their RTM (Right to Match) card and roped in Arshdeep for a whopping 18 crore. 

Arshdeep Singh has been a regular performer for both the Indian team and Punjab Kings in the IPL. Showcasing his class in the shortest format, many have argued that the star pacer has more than deserved the price that he has gotten. 

It is worth noting that Arshdeep Singh has played 65 IPL matches so far and has managed to take 76 wickets in the process. He has also maintained an economy of 9.03 and will hope to continue his exceptional performances for Punjab Kings in the new season of the IPL. 

Punjab Kings hope to improve in IPL 2025

Punjab Kings are still in search of their first IPL title. Having participated in the tournament since the competition’s inception in 2008, Punjab Kings have failed to win any titles as of yet. 

In the IPL 2024, Punjab Kings failed to qualify for the knockout rounds of the tournament. Having played 14 matches in the tournament, the side only managed to win five and lose the remaining nine matches. They finished in ninth place but will hope to rope in some good players and get their hands on their first IPL title.
