South Africa managed to end the series on a high as they clinched the final T20I against India at the Holkar Stadium in Indore while the hosts took the series 2-1. Rilee Rossouw's unbeaten century alongside Quinton de Kock's formidable knock were the two massive performances which helped the visitors dominate as India's bowling woes continued.

Earlier in the game, India opted to bowl first after winning the toss and Temba Bavuma’s struggles with the bat continued as he was dismissed for just three off just eight deliveries by Umesh Yadav. Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw stuck a 90-run partnership for the second wicket and the left handers maintained a hefty scoring rate in the middle. The pair took advantage of Rohit Sharma’s tactics as the Indian skipper refrained from using Axar Patel against them for a while.

De Kock reached a fluent half-century and his 68 off 43 deliveries with six fours and four sixes set the platform for a high scoring game. Rossouw took the onus of scoring once De Kock was removed while Tristan Stubbs provided him good support. The partnership yielded 87 runs for the third wicket with the bulk of the runs coming from Rossouw’s bat and David Miller (19*) provided the final flourish with three big sixes. Rossouw’s unbeaten century which included eight sixes helped the Proteas end up with a massive total of 227 for 3 in their 20 overs.

India lose wickets in a bundle in the middle overs

In reply, Rohit and Rishabh Pant were out in the middle and Kagiso got the big wicket of the Indian skipper for a two-ball duck. Wayne Parnell trapped Shreyas Iyer LBW in front of the wickets for just one run and left India tottering at 4 for 2 in the second over. Pant (27) and Dinesh Karthik (46) stitched a small partnership of 41 however, Proteas kept coming back with wickets at regular intervals.

In an attempt to match with the required run rate, Suryakumar Yadav (8), Axar Patel (9) and Harshal Patel (17) were removed in a quick succession while Ravichandran Ashwin could add just two runs to the tally. At 120 for 8 in the 13th over, the game looked to have sealed by the visitors already while Deepak Chahar (31) and Umesh Yadav (20*) established their batting potentials to take the game deep. However, it was only a matter of time as India were bowled out for 178 in the end.
