When Day 4 of the second Test between South Africa and the West Indies commenced, the hosts had a massive overnight lead over the visitors. Skipper Temba Bavuma scored 172 runs as he guided the Proteas to a score of 321.

After South Africa were bowled out, the West Indies had a target of 391 runs to win the game. The team got off to a subpar start to their second innings as skipper Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed after just scoring 18 runs. Following his dismissal, the visitors underwent a batting collapse as most of their batters were dismissed early.

Wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva was the highest run-getter for the Windies with his knock of 34 runs. The visitors were bundled out for just 106 runs as South Africa won the second Test and clinched the series as well.

The Proteas’ bowling attack comes through in second innings

After a magnificent batting performance across the two innings, South Africa launched an onslaught with the ball in the second innings as well. Kagiso Rabada, Simon Harmer, Keshav Maharaj, and Gerald Coetzee all took multiple wickets to seal the win for the hosts.

Harmer and Coetzee took three wickets each to cripple the batting line-up of the West Indies. Whereas, Rabada and Maharaj took two wickets each to further mount the pressure on their opponents.

South Africa won the game by a huge margin of 284 runs. Man-in-form Aiden Markram was named the Player of the Series for his fabulous performances across the two Tests.

He ended the series as the series' leading run scorer with 276 runs to his name. Despite being unable to score a lot of runs in the second innings, Markram played a sensational knock of 96 runs in the first innings of the second Test. Skipper Temba Bavuma was named the Player of the Match for his terrific knock.

Cricket has yet to have its “Chasing The Sun” moment. In light of that Temba Bavuma has suffered a relentless amount of hate from South Africans. It is not easy being the first! It’s days like today, that make those of us who’ve always backed him the happiest. #SAvsWI #Bavuma

#SAvsWI South Africa wrapped up the test series v Windies pretty quickly by wiping them out for just 106 runs, chasing 391 for a win in the final test. Bowlers Rabada, Coetzee & spinner Harmer doing immense damage quickly. WI crumbling totally.
