Twitter Reactions: South Africa slightly ahead after pacers dominate 13-wicket first day

South Africa took on Pakistan in first Test at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on December 26. South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first. Pakistan were off to a rocky start as they lost wickets in quick succession. Corbin Bosch and Dane Paterson bulldozed with their pace bowling prowess and Pakistan batters had no answers to their questions. They were reduced to 56/4 in the first session.

Shan Masood and Saim Ayub departed scoring 17 and 14 runs respectively. Babar Azam continued his poor form with the bat as the former Pakistan skipper was dismissed for just four runs. Saud Shakeel scored three quick boundaries and walked back scoring 14 runs. The respite came in the form of 81-run stand for the fifth wicket between Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Kamran scored a resilient 54 runs off 71 balls and his wicket was followed by Rizwan’s, who departed scoring 27 off 62 balls. Salman Agha and Aamer Jamal kept the fight on with 18 and 28 runs. South African pacers took no time to end the tailenders' stay and the team was bundled up for just 211 runs. For South Africa, Dane Paterson picked a five-wicket haul and Corbin Bosch picked a four-fer with Marco Jansen claiming one wicket. 

On the other hand, South Africa had to undergo the same plight. They lost their opener, Tony de Zorzi for just two runs. Ryan Rickelton followed suit scoring eight runs and Tristan Stubbs had only nine runs to contribute. Aiden Markram is at the crease unbeaten on 47 runs with Temba Bavuma batting on four runs. South Africa are 82/3 at Stumps. Khurram Shahzad scalped two wickets while Naseem Shah picked one.
