India Women were squashed by Australia Women in the third and final ODI of the series by 83 runs. The WACA witnessed an all-round display from the hosts, who emerged as the well-earned winners of the series.
The Aussie openers started off quite brightly. They were consistent in finding the boundary as each over from four to nine saw the ball making its way to the fence. However, a double-wicket over by Arundhati Reddy just after the powerplay halted the momentum. A few overs later, the right-arm medium pacer got her third in the form of Ellyse Perry. That is when when Annabel Sutherland made her way out to the middle.
Sutherland, who was joined by Ashleigh Gardner, stabilised the Australian innings. At the midway stage, Australia stood at 117/4. From that point onwards, the hosts decided on increasing the rate of run-scoring. The ominous parternship between the two was broken by a superb diving catch by Minnu Mani at point. Notably, Gardner brought up her fifty in the same over.
Deepti Sharma was taken for 17 in over which brought Australia back into the running for a total close to 300. Skipper Tahlia McGrath also got in on the act as she played her part in teaming up with a well-set Sutherland. The penultimate and the final over of the innings saw a couple of milestones - McGrath's fantastic fifty and Sutherland's second ODI ton as India were set a 299-run target.
During the chase, India were well placed at the end of the powerplay as Smriti Mandhana, who had had an underwhelming series, found her groove. Mandhana brought up her half-century in as many deliveries, and it seemed as if Harleen Deol and the southpaw were in for the long haul. However, Australia tightened the noose from there. Alana King made things worse for her opponents as she struck in her first over to get rid of Harleen. In the following over, Harmanpreet Kaur was dismissed while Mandhana attained a well-deserved ton.
However, the pair of Gardner and Sutherland came back to haunt India again as three wickets in the span of five deliveries virtually put the game to bed as Australia secured another resounding victory to extend their dominance in the 50-over format.

A 3-0 whitewash at the hand of the Aussie women. What makes it more embarrassing are the margins of losses :

202 balls to spare
122 runs
83 runs
The gap between the two sides is huge. Aussies have too many multi skill players of pedigree. #AUSWVSINDW

Australia-W proves once again why they’re the undisputed queens of cricket, while India-W highlights the gap that still needs bridging. A 3-0 whitewash with no fight, no answers. Time to regroup and rebuild. #AUSWVSINDW #SmritiMandhana #ArundhatiReddy pic.twitter.com/SSWSBPBCQZ

I stopped watching the women’s game when Ind were 119-1 in 24 overs. I told my brother they will still loose by 50+ runs.
