India won the second T20I against England by two wickets with four balls to spare at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, January 25. Tilak Varma starred with the bat for India as he scored a brilliant half-century.

Earlier in the day, Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and invited the tourists to bat first. England lost their openers inside the powerplay before Jos Buttler and Harry Brook stitched a decent partnership. However, Varun Chakravarthy got the better of Brook once again as he went through the batter's defence with a googly.

The England skipper batted well but Axar Patel ended his stay after he had scored an enterprising 45. Debutant Jamie Smith looked good during his 12-ball stay at the crease as he amassed 22 runs. Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone and Jamie Overton faltered with the bat.

Brydon Carse dismissed the Tamil Nadu all-rounder in the 14th over to bring England back into the game.

Axar Patel was dismissed cheaply as India's hopes rested on Tilak. The Hyderabad batter got good support from Ravi Bishnoi. In the last over, India needed six to win.

Tilak scored a couple off the first ball before smashing the second for a boundary through the cover region. India won the match with two wickets to spare as Tilak finished on 72* off 55 balls. India took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series with this nerve-wracking win.
