The Men in Blue squared up against Hong Kong in their second match of the Asia Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma's side was put in to bat first after Hong Kong won the toss, and the decision has been celebrated by the Indian fans as the nation's heartthrob Virat Kohli roared back into form with an eye-pleasing half-century, while Suryakumar Yadav played the innings of the tournament so far, smashing a 22-ball half century as India finished with 192 runs on the board.

The Indian opening batters were watchful in the first couple of overs but skipper Rohit Sharma switched gears after getting his eye in. He registered 21 runs off 13 deliveries before falling in order to up the scoring rate. Rohit's ouster brought the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli at the crease, who took his time to get in before opening his shoulders.

While Virat got a much-needed half-century under his belt, his 31st in T20Is, it was Suryakumar Yadav who stole the senior pro's thunder by playing a scintillating knock after KL Rahul's dismissal for a sluggish 36 off 39 deliveries. Suryakumar Yadav announced himself on the crease with two boundaries on his first two deliveries.

Nicknamed India's Mr. 360 by the fans, Suryakumar looked at tremendous ease on a sticky pitch that had troubled the other batters, playing some jaw-dropping shots behind the wicket. The power-hitter provided the much-needed impetus to the Indian innings in the latter stages, registering his half-century in just 22 deliveries, stunning the Hong Kong bowlers, who had no answer against the rampaging Indian batter.

The 31-year-old smashed three consecutive sixes on the first three deliveries of the final over, finishing with four sixes in the over as India posted 192 runs on the board on the back of the 26-run final over. The pair of Kohli and Suryakumar added an unbeaten 98 runs for the third wicket at a breathtaking pace, off just 42 deliveries.

Coming to Kohli, the batting ace, who has had a prolonged lean run with the bat, showed signs of form in the blockbuster clash against Pakistan, playing a crucial knock of 35 runs when the Indians were in a spot of bother after losing KL Rahul for a duck in the first over. His innings against Hong Kong will delight the Indian team and the fans alike.
