Former Pakistani cricketer Waqar Younis faced the wrath of the netizens after he made insensitive comments on dementia and Alzheimer's while targeting Scotland player during discussion of recently concluded T20 World Cup 2022 encounter between Scotland and the West Indies played on October 17 (Monday).

A panel of former Pakistani cricketers including Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis were seen discussing on the piece of paper carried by the Scottish player against the West Indies. The former Pakistan cricketer Younis attempted to crack extremely insensitive joke by stating that the players could perhaps be suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia.

We cannot see Pooran: Wasim Akram on the current West Indies skipper

Speaking in a panel discussion, a question was raised on why the Scottish players carried a sheet of paper on the ground. While discussing the same, Waqar Younis said, "It is possible that they have an issue of Alzheimer's or dementia." As soon as the former Pakistani bowler made this comment, the other members present in the discussion were heard laughing.

Soon after, Wasim Akram made a racist comment by adding, "We cannot see Pooran. How will we see his name on the back of a t-shirt." The panel was also heard giggling at Wasim's comments on Pooran.

Speaking about the match, Scotland batted first and posted a competitive total on the board thanks to batter George Munsey stroking 66 off 53 balls, which included nine fours. In reply, several West Indies batters including Kyle Mayers, Brandon King, and Evin Lewis got a start with the bat, but none of them could convert it to a big score.

As a result, the former T20 champions crumbled on 118 runs in 18.3 overs and handed a famous victory to Scotland by 42 runs. Munsey was adjudged player of the match for his excellent batting knock.

Meanwhile, here are some Twitter reactions on Younis' statement
