The Dhaka crowd continued to witness some stiff competition between both the teams. Bangladesh continued from their overnight score of 45/1. Tamim Iqbal displayed his consistency again with a superior 78 runs knock. Scoring his 24th half century, Iqbal helped the home team steer the lead to over 200 runs.
The hosts lost a couple of wickets early in the first session as the likes of Taijul Islam and Imrul Kayes fell prey to Nathan Lyon. Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim showed some resilience as he batted alongside Tamim to put up a 68 runs partnership for the fourth wicket. However, once Tamim got out, none of the Bangladeshi batsmen managed to stay at the crease.
Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed cheaply this time around. However, a late charge by Sabbir Rahman and Mehidy Hasan helped Bangladesh set a target of 269 for the visitors. Nathan Lyon was the pick of the bowlers with impressive figures of 6/82. Ashton Agar also plucked up a couple of wickets while Pat Cummins got the key wicket of Tamim.
Chasing a target of 265 on a turning track was never going to be easy. Australia lost two quick wickets in the form of Matt Renshaw and Usman Khawaja as they were reduced to 28/2. What followed was a splendid batting display by vice-captain David Warner.
The left-hander along with Steve Smith put up a fabulous unbeaten 81-run partnership for the third wicket as they continued to bat till stumps. While Smith was batting on 25 (58), it was Warner leading the way with a stupendous 75 not out. With 156 runs more required, this game might go either way.
The hosts would be looking to get Warner and Smith early tomorrow. On the other hand, the visitors would be willing to watch these two bat Australia to victory. Whatever the result, the first session tomorrow promises to be an exciting one for the fans.

248 should be enough. Another 25-30 runs will take the game a fair distance away from Aus. Mehidy proving what an asset he is. ?? #BanvAus
