Twitter Reactions: India win the nail biter by 3 runs to win the series 2-1

With the series levelled 1-1, the final showdown at Harare was a humdinger of a contest between India and Zimbabwe. Captain Graeme Cremer won the toss, as Zimbabwe decided to ask the visitors to bat first for the maiden time in the tour so far. MS Dhoni had an unchanged XI from their last game.

Batting first, the Indian batsmen were reduced to 27/3. Kedar Jadhav then played a gem of an innings as he smashed 58 from just 42 deliveries while they continued to lose wickets. In the end, Axar Patel’s cameo of 20 (11)* made sure India reached 138/6 in their quota of 20 overs.

While it wasn’t a great batting show by the visiting team, the wicket was also quite on the slower side. Tiripano was the pick among the Zimbabwe bowlers as he had bowling figures of 3/20. 138 on this surface was never going to be an easy total.

Batting second, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets at regular intervals. While their batsmen got starts they failed to convert it into big ones and bat along the chase. In the end, it boiled down to 21 from the last over. Sran bowled a poor over but was lucky to end up on the winning side as Zimbabwe fans had a heartbreak.

India won the game by 3 runs as Zimbabwe failed to score a boundary off the last ball. Kulkarni led the Indian bowling with figures of 2/23 while Axar also got a wicket along with being economical. With this win, India also went on to win the series 2-1, thus successfully marking the end of the tour.
