The Indian team has been invincible on the Sri Lankan tour so far. They’ve decimated the opposition in a brutal way. After having completed dominated the Test series, India continued their fabulous run in limited-overs cricket too as they whitewashed Sri Lanka 5-0 at their own backyard.

It was a result of some stupendous all round performance by the Indian team altogether. The batting clicked in times of need, the bowlers stepped up in every game. Everything fell perfectly in place for the Indian team. It was the contribution of each member of the team that helped them tame the Sri Lankans in their own den.

The ICC ODI rankings announced today reflected the performances as the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni were promoted.

Bumrah was stupendous throughout the series. Having picked up 15 wickets in 5 games, Bumrah hurled yorkers boasting of a magnificent economy rate of 3.90. Having recorded his best figures of 5/27 in the series, he was also rewarded the Man of the Series for his splendid effort. He rose to career high bowling position at No.4.

Skipper Kohli continued to impress with his consistent run throughout the series. After a slow start, he ended up scoring consecutive centuries in the last 2 games and ended up as the highest run scorer in the series. His average was 110 in the series.

Rohit Sharma who had been out due to injury for a long time also made his return to the top 10 as he was placed at No.9 in the ICC rankings. He too scored two centuries and was the second highest run-scorer in the series after Kohli.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is back in the top 10 of the ICC rankings. After having stayed there for a record 10 years between 2005-2015, Dhoni had slipped out of the top 10 rankings after a lean patch. However, a great series batting in the lower order where the opposition failed to contain him even once has brought him back at the helm.
