The West Indies upped their game in the 5th and final T20I against England to seal the series 3-2. The West Indies wielded the willow first and posted a total of 179/4 on the board.
And, 4 West Indian batters chipped in with handy contributions. Brandon King and Kyle Mayers put on a 59-run stand in 6.4 overs to set the tone at the top of the order. After that, skipper Kieron Pollard and Rovman Powell played brilliant knocks to propel the hosts to a competitive total.
While Pollard bludgeoned his way to a 25-ball 41*, Powell scored a handy 35* off just 17 deliveries. Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone were the bowlers who inflicted damage with the ball. Both Rashid and Livingstone scalped 2 wickets each with the ball in hand.
England fall short in the run chase against the West Indies
England fell short in the run chase with the willow in hand. England lost their opener Jason Roy in the very first over of the innings. After that, Tom Banton and James Vince steadied the ship with a 32-run stand. After Bantonโs departure, Vince continued to punish the West Indian bowlers and scored a superb 55 at a strike rate in excess of 155.
However, he did not receive support from his teammates. Even though Sam Billings scored a valuable 28-ball 41, as many as 7 England batters scored in single digits, as the Moeen Ali-led outfit fell short of the target set by the West Indies and was bowled out for a total of 162.
Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein polished off the England batting lineup. While Holder produced a sensational performance and scalped a five-wicket haul which included 4 wickets in 4 balls, Hosein was equally impressive and gobbled up 4 England willow wielders. Holder won the Player of the Match award for his fantastic spell with the ball in hand. So, it was the West Indies who had the last laugh in a closely fought series between the two outfits in the land of the Caribbean.

4 wickets in 4 balls in the last over by @Jaseholder98 gives the West Indies the series. A series where batting first was the advantage. 4 wins from 5 from the team batting 1st. #EngvWI #WIvENG
