Twitter Reactions: Jasprit Bumrah's sensational six-wicket haul gives India 292-run lead
He was breathing fire with every delivery and thoroughly deserved all the wickets.

He is playing only in the 10th Test match of his career. Jasprit Bumrah has lit up the MCG with his exceptional bowling performance on a pitch where the hosts toiled for close to 170 over to pick only seven wickets. Aaron Finch, after the second day’s play, had claimed that all the three results are possible if they bat well in the first innings. But the hosts failed to walk the talk.
The openers Finch and Marcus Harris started off well by scoring some quick runs. But then once the procession started, it was all one-way traffic. Bumrah bowled terrific lengths to keep the batsmen on the tenterhooks and every time, he came on to bowl, it seemed that the wicket would fall. It all started with a searing bouncer to Harris in the morning and ended up with an equally good yorker to Josh Hazlewood to return with the figures of 6/33.
Marsh dismissal the best
Jasprit Bumrah had only a solitary wicket to his name until the last ball of lunch. After clocking more than 140 kph for the whole session, he unfurled a surprising slower yorker which tailed in at the batsmen only to hit him on the boots. Marsh was dead as a dodo in front of the stumps as India went into the change room having taken four wickets.
This was not the end for Bumrah though. He came back even more menacingly in the second session to nip out Travis Head with a pacy inswinger first and then ran through the tail like a boss. Tim Paine was the first casualty in the final session with Rishabh Pant taking a good low catch to his right. Bumrah then brought his limited-overs weapon out to clean up the tail which has frustrated India throughout the year.
His deliveries were too hot to handle for the likes of Nathan Lyon and Hazlewood as India skittled out the hosts for 151 runs. The visitors haven’t enforced the follow-on and will look to extend the lead now to thump Australia.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Bumrah’s exceptional bowling:
In Mumbai, people would say India ani @Jaspritbumrah93 ni Australia la kholla! 😜 #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/8rUDTM2cpl

What a difference Jasprit Bumrah has made. I feel he has made the difference for the Indian attack from being very good to outstanding. 292 is a huge lead and India would be sensing one hand on the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Need to not give Australia a chance pic.twitter.com/GPTjxuEJ8f

What an outstanding bowling effort from India and a really special effort from Jasprit Bumrah. He has been the best bowler on display across both sides by some distance and has put India in a really dominating position #AusvInd pic.twitter.com/sP3A05b4Ti

Indian fast bowlers have gotten more from the surfaces than their Australian counterparts. And Bumrah has been the best bowler by a fair margin…. #AusvInd #7cricket @7Cricket

Quality bowling from India, the entire attack playing their part. @Jaspritbumrah93 continues to produce magic, the slower ball and yorker quite often underused in Test cricket. #AUDvIND
