Chasing a gargantuan target of 208 for victory, the Brisbane Heat side could only muster a total of 187/9. Chris Lynn and Ben Duckett were the only 2 batters who took the fight to the Melbourne Stars’ bowling attack. While Lynn scored a 34-ball 57, Duckett scored 54 off 35 deliveries.

Melbourne Stars post a mammoth total of 207/9
The Melbourne Stars’ innings was just about 2 men. At one stage, the Stars were reeling at 16/3, and it looked as if the side would go down meekly. But then, wicketkeeper Joe Clarke and Hilton Cartwright came together and dismantled the Brisbane Heat bowling attack.
The duo was involved in a scintillating 151-run partnership for the 4th wicket. While Clarke scored 85 at a strike rate of close to 200, Cartwright bludgeoned a quickfire 44-ball 79, as the Stars posted a mammoth total of 207/9 on the board.
Mark Steketee scalped 3 wickets with the ball for the Brisbane Heat side. Apart from Steketee, the likes of Liam Guthrie and James Bazley chipped in with a couple of wickets as well. The Melbourne Stars have now moved to the 4th place in the points table after this superb performance, while the Brisbane Heat side is placed at the 6th position.

85 from 44, your Player of the Match: Joe Clarke 🙏#TeamGreen #BBL11 pic.twitter.com/MxOIMIELGH

Came into this game late and hadn’t realised fellow @TrentBridge boy Joe Clarke had smashed 80-plus runs in the Stars’ innings.
It would appear the in-form English batsmen plying their trade Down Under this winter are in #BBL11 and not the #Ashes.

Very happy for Hilton Cartwright. He's a talented bat but it had been lean pickings for the last few seasons for him. Glad to see some runs flowing through this season

That was some innings from #ChrisLynn by far the most destructible batsman in PL.
Just that couldn't replicate his form in Internationals!!#BBL

Chris Lynn out for 57 (34), an exciting knock, and a much welcomed return to form for Chris. The BBL is so much better when Chris is in great form.
I’m done. Good night. #BBL11 https://t.co/q8Lfavw5WZ
