On what was a slow pitch at Antigua, England managed to attain a 4 wicket victory and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Earlier in the day, it was West Indies captain Jason Holder who won the toss as the hosts elected to bat first.
West Indies had another horrid start as Ewin Lewis who scored consecutive boundaries in the first over got out. Kieran Powell and Shai Hope followed him back to the pavilion as the Caribbeans were left reeling at 46/3.
Kraigg Brathwaite and Jason Mohammed tried to avoid any further hiccups as they combined for a 72 run partnership for the fourth wicket. While Brathwaite was dismissed for 42 runs, Jason Mohammed went on to score his second consecutive half century.
Jonathan Carter also showed good intent with a steady 39. Carlos Brathwaite got a start but failed to accelerate. Once both got out, West Indies wickets kept tumbling one after the other in the quest of scoring quick runs in the last few overs.
For a second consecutive time, West Indies failed to last 50 overs as they got all out for 225 runs. Liam Plunkett was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets to his name. Adil Rashid and Steve Finn also managed a couple of wickets each while Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali bagged one each.
On a pitch like this, it was quite a tricky total for the visitors. Sam Billings was out for a golden duck in the first over. However, Jason Roy and Joe Root took to task and managed to stitch an 86 run partnership for the second wicket. Jason Roy scored a half century before he got out trying to clear mid wicket.
While Joe Root stayed firm at one end, his partners kept failed to hold on as within a matter of time, England were reduced to 124/6 causing panic in the ranks. Devendra Bishoo and Ashley Nurse were on a prowl as Jason Holder bowled their full quota within 30 overs.

On a day where batsmen with the calibre of Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler failed, it was Chris Woakes who stood out for the English side. Scoring a brilliant 68 runs of 83 deliveries, he along with Root combined for a phenomenal unbeaten 102 run partnership for the seventh wicket to steer England to victory.
Joe Root went on to score 90 not out as England won the series with one match still left. Both teams are now slated to go to Barbados and play in a dead rubber. On a Sunday, where we had tremendous day of test cricket between India and Australia and a historic PSL final, this game also interested the masses with the uncertainty.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game.
Don't know if it's West Indies fielding or Pakistan fielding. #WIVENG

Windies bat badly, England bat even worse against spinners Bishoo and Nurse. Up to Root and Woakes but at least they only need four an over.

It's worth remembering there was a time when England thought Cook's style was better for an ODI opener than Roy's style. #WIvsENG

While Steven Finn (2-38) delivered early strikes, Liam Plunkett (3-32) and Adil Rashid (2-52) did the damage at the back end of the innings

At 30 years old, Jason Mohammed taking his chance for West Indies. Good to see. Needs a big score in the last ODI to push for other formats
