Afridi named all the three scalps under his name by conceding 55 runs in 20 overs. Mohammad Abbas was the other bowler who came up with an economical spell. It was Williamson and Taylor who kept Pakistan at bay by stitching a sturdy partnership of 115 runs after Afridi sent back both the openers. Before the Test series, both the nations were up against each other for the three-match T20I series where Black Caps stole the show by clinching the series 2-1.
New Zealand already have T20I series in their bag
Now, the first day of the 1st Test has already summed up where hosts looked too competitive. It would be a thing to see how visitors will turn tables on the second day. Both the nations would be up against each other for one more Test following this one. Though New Zealand looked dominating, it was noted that Pakistan gave a decent show with the ball but fell a little low in the fielding section. It was quite evident on the day one that New Zealand would we waiting up for another classy ton from Williamson’s bat on the day two of the 1st Test.
