Twitter Reactions: Kedar Jadhav continues to impress with the ball
While some opened the stat book and started drawing comparisons, others were absolutely thrilled to see Kedhar contributing with the ball.
As the Indian bowling put up a stupendous performance to restrict the Australia to an under par total of 242/9, Kedar Jadhav managed to grab eyeballs yet again for his spectacular show with the ball. For a while now, the unorthodox part-timer has been used quite frequently by the Indian captains in the middle overs.
Today, Virat Kohli gave him his full quota of 10 overs to bowl and this was the first time in his career that he bowled all his overs. And Jadhav failed to disappoint. He gave away just 48 runs off which 13 were scored in his last over. He was otherwise exceptional in restricting the Australian run flow and had everyone playing him cautiously.
However, the biggest achievement of the day for him was catching Steve Smith plumb in front of the stumps. Jadhav tried to extract bounce as Smith looked forward to sweeping it. However, the ball kept low and sneaked under his bat to hit the front pad. The bowler was ecstatic and so was his skipper Kohli and senior man MS Dhoni.
The Australian batters ended up posting a total of 242/9 a lot of credit for that goes to the Indian bowlers who pulled things back brilliantly in the death, striking regular wickets. This game had almost everything covered, good start, middle order collapse, spinners cashing in and some brilliant death bowling.
Kedar now has got 16 wickets in his One Day International career so far and some of his victims include international stars like David Warner, Kane Williamson, Angelo Mathew, Corey Anderson, Tamim Iqbal and now Steve Smith.
Twitter had some scintillating tweets on Kedar Jadhav’s impact as a bowler. While some opened the stat book and started drawing comparisons, others were absolutely thrilled to see him contributing with the ball. There were also some who thought that it was more the batsmen playing him poorly than him bowling well.
