West Indies beat India by one run in the first T20 international in a high scoring encounter at Florida, USA. The star for India with the bat was KL Rahul, who remained unbeaten on 110 from 51 balls which comprised of 12 boundaries and 5 sixes.
Rahul came into the match as a replacement of Shikhar Dhawan and made most of the opportunity as he became the third Indian batsman to score a century in all the three formats of the game.
West Indies quite literally stole the from under Team India’s nose. With 8 runs needed off the last over and 2 needed from the last ball, India couldn’t get it as MS Dhoni was dismissed on the last ball of the match.
Dwayne Bravo revealed the plan used with MS Dhoni at the crease. “We wanted to keep midwicket in to prevent him from just hitting it towards that region. I was a touch apprehensive to bowl the slower delivery, but then I saw MS walking across and so bowled it and it worked out,” he said.

Amidst all that one man had probably done all in his prowess to ensure his team won but wasn’t at the right end of the crease when it mattered the most and as Dhoni was caught Rahul was down disappointed, unsure of what more could he have done to end on the winning side.
KL Rahul played one of the best knocks we have seen in recent times in T20 internationals while also registering his maiden T20I ton and deserved to be on the winning side, but nonetheless, he has announced his capabilities in the shortest format of the game, having already proved it in both Test cricket and ODIs.
Here as how the Twitter reacts as KL Rahul became the 3rd Indian to score a ton in all the 3 formats:
