India resumed their innings on Day 2 at Kingston from their overnight score of 126/1. In the first session, both KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara had come out with intentions of playing with caution and not losing their wicket. Just 59 runs were scored with both Rahul and Pujara looking to hang around and spend as much time in the middle. It was really tiresome for the Windies bowlers as they searched for a breakthrough.

KL Rahul reached his third Test century as the second session proceeded. He has been in a great patch in a while leading onto the IPL and the Zimbabwe series. Considering that he was brought in this game as a replacement for Murali Vijay, he made it count with a special knock.

Pujara looked slow but steady. However, a silly lapse resulted in a run out. Rahul ended up registering his career best score of 158. Skipper Virat Kohli looked quite comfortable on the crease before getting out on 44. It was a soft dismissal. Another centurion from the last game Ravichandran Ashwin was trapped lbw by leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo.

Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Saha made sure there were no further hiccups on the day. India ended day 2 at 358/5 in a commanding position, leading by 162 runs.

Twitter was full of enthralling tweets. When on one hand, people were full of praise for KL Rahul, they also ridiculed West Indies tactics on the field. There were some hilarious reactions on Pujara’s patchy knock. Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during Day 2 of the India-West Indies test at Kingston:
