In what was a brilliant game for the visitors in Port Elizabeth as India managed to seal the series with a 73-run win. Earlier, Rohit Sharma put an end to his drought in South Africa with a scintillating hundred. On the other hand, the Proteas couldn’t replicate their performance from the last game.
Being put in to bat first Shikhar Dhawan hit some splendid shots before getting outdone by Kagiso Rabada. Virat Kohli alongside Sharma put up a fantastic partnership worth 105 runs. However, the breakthrough was provided by a moment of confusion in the middle as Kohli was run out after getting set for another good knock.
Ajinkya Rahane was also run out as the Indians kept gifting wickets. Rohit went on to register his 17th One-Day International century. The 30-year-old hit 11 boundaries and 4 sixes before getting out. Hardik Pandya who came in at No.6 was dismissed for a golden duck as his horrendous tour with the bat continued.
Shreyas Iyer failed to accelerate the innings while MS Dhoni too couldn’t shift gears. The Indian middle order was exposed and the vulnerability was for all to see. India managed to score 274/7 in their quota of 50 overs. Lungisani Ngidi was the pick amongst the South African bowlers as he got four wickets.
The hosts began well as the openers had a fifty-run partnership. Aiden Markram was again dismissed after getting a good start. JP Duminy got out in the very next over as the Proteas were reduced to 55/2. A couple of laters, it was AB de Villiers who played a lazy shot. Pandya got his wicket twice in consecutive matches.
Hashim Amla continued to toil hard as he scored his first half century in the ODI series. Both him and David Miller scored 62 runs for the fourth wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled Miller and thankfully hadn’t overstepped this time. Amla’s effort ended with a nasty run out while Phehlukwayo was also dismissed cheaply.
Heinrich Klaasen continued to fight hard in the end. However, it was too late and he bowed down to pressure. The South Africans were eventually all out for 201 runs. Kuldeep Yadav picked four wickets. Both Pandya and Chahal got a couple each. Twitterati had a field day as they went from trolling Rohit Sharma to Hardik Pandya to AB de Villiers.

SA can look at playing Klassen as their keeper with QDK as a specialist batsman going forward. Certainly better than playing nonces like Duminy.

Kohli will probably get a demerit point for "showing displeasure" at umpire's decision.
Had he not burned the review earlier he could have gone up for a decision & got it overturned#SAvIND— ashenai (@ashenai) February 13, 2018
Hardik Pandya has sacrificed his batting so he can concentrate on his bowling. #legend #SAvIND
