There’s no doubt that Kuldeep Yadav adds an X-factor to Team India’s strong bowling lineup. The young tweaker has the knack of making inroads into the best of batting lineups and on his day, even make the best of batsmen jump like a cat on a hot tin roof. The West Indies batsmen had to bear the brunt of the wily Chinaman during the second ODI in Visakhapatnam.
Of late, he has been in and out of the team, but in Vizag, he showed exactly why he is an asset to the Men in Blue. The Uttar Pradesh bowler became the first Indian bowler with two hat-tricks in international cricket. Back in September 2017, Kuldeep picked up his maiden hat-trick against a prolific Australian batting unit at the renowned Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Kuldeep rocks the West Indies
This time around, it was the turn of the Caribbean batters. His first wicket came in the form of Shai Hope, who was looking ominous, having scored 78 off 85. Hope tried to clear the mid-wicket fence only to be caught by Virat Kohli. In the first match, it was Hope, who got the visitors over the finishing line. He along with Nicholas Pooran kept India at bay for some time.
In the next delivery, Jason Holder was left clueless by a googly from Kuldeep. Holder came down the trick and got beaten. Rishabh Pant had ample time to take the bails off and help India pick up their seventh wicket. Alzarri Joseph was the next man in and nothing much was expected of him since he isn’t known for his batting prowess. Joseph became Kuldeep’s third victim.
The spinner bowled a wrong’urn from around the stumps and landed it around the off and middle stump. Joseph looked to work it on to the leg side, but couldn’t read the delivery. The ball took a thick outside edge off Joseph’s bat and flew towards the slip cordon.
Kedar Jadhav was standing there and he had to move a tad on to his right. In the end, Jadhav pouched the leather and Kuldeep erupted in ecstasy. After the hat-trick, the netizens couldn’t stop lauding Kuldeep for the masterful spell of bowling.
Here is how Twitterati lauded Kuldeep
Just loved the way Shami bowled his second spell to get rid of Pooran and Pollard and then the sensational over from Kuldeep to pick his second #hatrick in ODIs. #INDvsWI @StarSportsIndia

2nd hattrick for Kuldeep Yadav!!!
What a bowler, and we don’t play him in T20s now because he is not a big hitter 🤷🏽♂️

Kuldeep Yadav becomes the first left arm Chinaman to take 2 hat tricks in ODI cricket, and this guy has played only 55 ODIs. What a bowler, what a talent!!
